Partnership for Success – The Graham ‘Polly’ Farmer Foundation

Port Augusta’s Partnership for Success is designed to give selected students every opportunity to succeed in their schooling or continued formal education and gain employment. The program requires a strong commitment from the selected students and their families.

Port Augusta’s Partnership for Success is a partnership between Graham (Polly) Farmer Foundation, State and Australian Government Departments, Private Industry sponsors and the community.

The major sponsors in Port Augusta include:

  • Augusta Power Stations
  • Downer EDI, BHP Billiton
  • ETSA Utilities
  • The Family of Moxon Simpson and Genesee Wyoming

If accepted into Partnership for Success, the program assists students to succeed at their education and then gain employment or progress onto further education and training.

Stronger Smarter

The Stronger Smarter Institute has been working across Australia with school and community leaders committed to creating Stronger Smarter realities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people.

The Stronger Smarter philosophy honours a positive sense of cultural identity, and acknowledges and embraces positive community leadership, enabling innovative and dynamic approaches and processes that are anchored by high expectations relationships.

High expectations and relationships honour the humanity of others, and in so doing, acknowledge one’s strengths, capacity and human rights.

Workabout Centre

The Workabout Centre engages the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in Years 10-12 in educational and employment pathways, whilst at the same time building relationships between education, industry, organisations, and Aboriginal communities to create a culture of sustainable employment and retention in the work force.

The Workabout Centre delivers mentoring, counselling, tutoring and work-readiness strategies that provides intensive culturally inclusive support to Aboriginal young people from the commencement of secondary schooling into post-school pathways. For more information please contact Natalie Giles on 8647 3300.
