Restorative Practices – Free Workshop for Parents and the Community
PARENT & COMMUNITY WORKSHOP –
PORT AUGUSTA SECONDARY SCHOOL
RSVP here: https://tinyurl.com/4fbw5mn6
Workshops support a whole-school approach to embedding restorative practice at Port Augusta Secondary School, bringing together student learning, staff capability building, and parent and community alignment. Through a combination of student workshops, a staff restorative practice refresher workshop, and a parent and community workshop, the program builds shared language, consistent responses, and practical skills for navigating conflict, emotion, and repair across the school community.
Delivered by Restorative Journeys, the program is grounded in evidence-informed restorative and relational frameworks, with a strong focus on understanding affect, shame, and behaviour, and on responding to harm in ways that strengthen relationships rather than escalate conflict. By aligning what students, staff, and families learn and experience, this approach supports Port Augusta Secondary School to build a safe, connected, and accountable culture where conflict is treated as a learning opportunity and restorative practice becomes a lived, sustainable way of working together.
